Location

Registration, oral presentations, and the poster session will be on the GCRL Halstead Campus (address below). Oral presentations will be in the Caylor Building (building #5 on the map below). Poster presentations will take place in the Dining Hall (building #4 on the map below):

The banquet will be held on the Marine Education Center (MEC) at Cedar Point campus located at:

When traveling between campuses, please use Google maps (not Apple maps) to enter the address.  Below are step-by-step directions from Halstead to MEC:

    • From the GCRL Halstead Campus, turn right and go 1.4 miles north on Halstead Road to Government Street and turn right. 
    • After 2.0 miles, turn right on Knapp Road. 
    • Take the first right onto VFW Road. 
    • Take the first left onto Park Road. 
    • In 0.2 miles, turn left into the GCRL entrance at Laurel Oak Drive. 
    • After approximately 0.3 miles, the Marine Education Center entrance is on the left.

Food 

Food will be offered at the Halstead dining hall across the street from the main conference session building. 

GERS is supplying:

  • Breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday, Oct 28 and Saturday, Oct 29. Dinner on Friday includes heavy appetizers at the poster session, and Saturday is a full dinner at the banquet. 
  • Coffee, tea and snacks during the morning and afternoon breaks on Friday, Oct 28 and Saturday, Oct 29
  • Appetizers and a drink ticket for the poster session on Friday, Oct 28  
  • Admission and a drink ticket for the closing banquet on Saturday, Oct 29 evening at The University of Southern Mississippi Gulf Coast Research Laboratory’s Marine Education Center Conference Center.


Banquet

The closing banquet will be held at the Marine Education Center (MEC) on the Cedar Point campus (building #21 on the map above), approximately 10 minutes away from the Halstead campus.  

GERS is an affiliate society of the Coastal Estuarine Research Federation (CERF). CERF members receive great benefits, including access to an international job board and tools for early career scientists to become leaders in their fields.
