GERS 2020 Virtual Meeting and making it a success! 

We are excited to announce plans for GERS member discussions, webinar and student presentation (and award) opportunities!

In lieu of our biannual in-person GERS meeting, we are planning numerous free opportunities to keep our members engaged, informed, and excited about the coast. 

Registration is required to participate in the discussions, webinars, and presentations. 

  1. Online discussion panel regarding the challenges of working on coastal issues during climate change (and other global crises….). November 10, 9:00-10:30 am CST.  
  2. Fellowship discussion panel - Four presenters representing various environmental organizations throughout the coast will provide an overview of their organization and opportunities they have for graduate students, November 16, 4:00-5:00 pm CST
  3. Dr. Marla Nelson, University of New Orleans will provide a webinar, "Adaptive Migration and Climate Justice in Coastal Louisiana", November 17, 11:00-12:00 CST. For access information, click HERE (access only available for registered members).  
  4. Student on-line recorded presentation showcase –  On-line meeting and discussion is November 16 - November 18, 2020, 5:00 pm CST. To access presentations, click HERE (access only available for registered members). 

GERS is an affiliate society of the Coastal Estuarine Research Federation (CERF). We encourage you to join and support CERF! CERF members receive great benefits, influding access to an international job board and tools for early career scientists to become leaders in their fields. Regular GERS dues may also be paid at the same time as CERF dues. Join or renew your CERF membership today!
